Meet the team

 

Nigel - Director

I started my career in the mid 1970’s at Wyko, now known as Eriks. In 1979 I joined Abec Group and became a director and shareholder of their three companies.
In early 1995 I participated in the management buyout that bought Abec Group Ltd which was later sold to Brammer PLC.
In 1997 I became a senior manager / director of a newly incorporated company named Abec Distribution Ltd.
I left Brammer to start my own company Global Bearings and Transmission Ltd which I ran successfully for the last 23 years.
My field of expertise is precision tapered roller bearings (Gamet) and Precision bearings.

   

                 

 

Gordon - Manager

I started my career gaining knowledge after completing my apprenticeship while working in the automotive sector.
In 1991, I entered the bearing industry, my role was delivering goods andmanaging the stores department.
Occasionally assisting the workshop with machining and repairs.
I specialised in linear motion products after I attended an extensive training course for Abec Group Ltd in Oxford for 6 months,
this was to fulfil their requirements for localised knowledge for their end user business.
In 2007, I joined Global bearings rising to my current position as manager.
I am involved in all aspects of the business. I liaise with customers and suppliers, quoting, taking and placing orders, managing and re-ordering stock.
I look after the technical side of Global, often identifying products just from photographs or half references.
I produce technical drawings, my speciality also extends to cross-referencing products and advising customers on the best solution for them.

 

 

    

Emma - Office Manager

My first job role was an office junior at an estate agent, I quickly gained experience within the industry, became a negotiator, dealing with homeowners and solicitors.
I worked for several years at the jobcentre plus, looking after clients, helping them to sign on and find work.
For 12 years I worked within the timber window industry. Speaking to suppliers and customers, I did everything from warehouse to office management.
I joined Global Bearings in 2011, where I oversee the day-to-day operations. Frontline for all customer enquiries, quoting and taking sales orders.
Communicating with suppliers, placing orders, and keeping up to date on delivery times.
I manage the accounts department, sending invoices and statements and look after the finance side of Global Bearings.

Gorgina
Georgina - Office Administrator

I have 7 years customer service experience. My previous role at Atwell International consisted of taking calls from customers, suppliers, and engineers.
Follow up quotations with outgoing calls and emails, while focusing on building a rapport on a one-to-one basis.
My personal skills are exceptional, I work well within the team at Global Bearings.
My duties include data input, filing and general office administration. I am ambitious and have a hunger to succeed.
